The Residential Trip in 2017 took members of the Battle Muffin Leisure Club to West Sussex and Hampshire using a hotel base on Hayling Island.

This was a comprehensive tour with a full programme of visits each day. These included: Chichester, Mottisfont, The Watercress Line, a canal boat trip aboard the "John Pinkerton", Romsey Abbey, Petworth, Odiham Castle and the Milestone Living Museum.
Photographs show Chichester Cathedral, Basingstoke Canal, Mottisfont, The Watercress Line, The Milestone Living Museum and Petworth.

For David Pratt's final trip before stepping down, the lucky holiday makers headed for Banbury, Oxfordshire via Windsor.  This holiday, also included visits to Blenheim Palace, The City of Oxford, Waddesdon Manor, a guided Midsomer Murder Tour, and for good measure, a ride on the Chinoor & Risborough Steam Railway which included a welcome cream tea.
Once again, many thanks to David Pratt the principal organiser of the transport and accommodation arrangements and leader of the party for  very successful and enjoyable trips for the seniors of Battle each year over the past eight years.

May 2019

Janette (Jan) Morgan has kindly volunteered to take over from David Pratt to continue this enjoyable facility for the Seniors of Battle.  The destination of this trip is the Jury's Inn Hotel, Cheltenham stopping en route at Cirencester, visiting the Corinium Museum.  Based close to the M5, the hotel location is ideal for the planned holiday.  These visits include S.S. Great Britain in Bristol, The Royal Worcester Museum and/or Worcester Cathedral, Hidcote Manor Garden, Blue Badge Guide tour of Cotswolds, Sudley Castle, Gloucestershire and Wawickshire steam train ride.  Homeward is via the National Trust village of Lacock and Abbey.

Special thanks to David and wife, Margaret for their support and good advice for Jan's Inaugural Trip as leader of the party.
